Is Printit4Me available outside Australia?

No. Printit4Me currently operates within Australia only.

How do fees work?

Accepted Answer

Printit4Me charges a 10% commission on completed sales. There are no listing fees, no monthly subscription fees, and no fees on quotes you don't win. Stripe payment processing fees apply separately at standard Stripe rates.

When do makers get paid?

Funds are held securely in escrow during production. Payouts are released to the maker's connected Stripe account after the customer confirms delivery or after an automatic release window passes. Stripe payout timing then depends on your bank.

How does Stripe Connect work?

Makers and designers connect a Stripe account during onboarding. Customer payments are taken through Stripe, held until completion, then transferred to the maker's Stripe account net of platform commission. No funds touch Printit4Me directly.

Are my design files secure?

Yes. Uploaded files are stored on private cloud storage and are only accessible to makers actively quoting on or fulfilling your project. We do not on-sell, train AI on, or republish customer files.

What is a Hobby Maker?

A Hobby Maker is an independent Australian maker without an ABN. Hobby makers can quote, sell physical and digital products, and receive payouts via Stripe. Their listings show a 'Hobby Maker' badge so customers always know who they're dealing with.

What is a Business Maker?

A Business Maker is a registered Australian business with a verified ABN. Their business name is displayed publicly and they show a 'Verified Business' badge. Business makers can issue tax invoices and may suit larger or commercial orders.

What is a Verified Maker?

Accepted Answer

Verified Maker is a separate badge from Hobby/Business. It means the maker's identity and contact details have been checked and Stripe payouts onboarding is complete. Both hobby and business makers can become Verified Makers.

Do I need an ABN to sell on Printit4Me?

No — you can join as a Hobby Maker without an ABN. You only need an ABN if you want to upgrade to a Business Maker. ABNs are stored privately and never displayed publicly.

Can I upgrade from Hobby to Business later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add and verify your ABN from your dashboard and we'll switch your listings, badge and tax-invoice settings over.

What digital file formats can I sell?

STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP, SVG, PNG and ZIP bundles are supported today. Designers can mark files as personal-use only or commercial-licence.

How are digital sales fulfilled?

Delivery is automatic. When a buyer pays, the system creates a download entitlement in their dashboard, issues the files and triggers the maker payout — no manual fulfilment required.

Are digital files refundable?

Digital files are non-refundable after a successful download, except where required by Australian Consumer Law (e.g. a major failure such as corrupt, mis-described or IP-infringing files). See the Refund Policy for details.

How do refunds work?

Australian Consumer Law guarantees always apply. Contact the maker first via in-platform messaging. If unresolved within 7 days, open a dispute from the order page. We aim to resolve disputes within 10 business days, with outcomes including partial refund, full refund, replacement or release of funds.

When is a dispute valid?

Disputes are appropriate for items not received, items significantly different from the description, manufacturing defects, breach of agreed specifications, or transit damage caused by inadequate packaging.

When is a dispute NOT valid?

Disputes are usually declined where the customer misunderstood the dimensions, didn't read the listing details, changed their mind, or where the item was damaged by customer use, modification or environment after delivery.

Who handles shipping?

Makers are responsible for packing, shipping and providing tracking. Shipping cost and method are included in each quote. Some makers also offer local pickup or local delivery.

Who is liable if a package is lost or damaged in transit?

Where the maker packed the item adequately and used the agreed shipping method, transit loss is usually resolved through the carrier's claims process, with the maker as the sender. Printit4Me's dispute team can help mediate.

Are 3D printed items food-safe?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the material, printer, nozzle, print process and post-processing. Food-safe filaments, resins, sealants and finishes do exist, but standard hobby prints are not automatically food-safe. Customers and makers are responsible for agreeing on suitability before any food-contact use.

Can I use 3D printed parts in safety-critical applications?

Accepted Answer

No — unless the maker has independently certified the product. Printit4Me does not certify products for medical, aviation, structural, fire-safety or load-bearing use.
