How to Upload Your Design to Printit4Me
Walkthrough of uploading your STL, STEP or 3MF design to Printit4Me, getting maker quotes and ordering your print.
Getting a print quoted on Printit4Me takes about two minutes. Here's exactly what happens, what to include and how to get the best price and lead time from Australian makers.
Step 1 — Post a job
Click 'Post a job' from anywhere on the site. You don't need an account to start — just to accept a quote.
Upload your file (STL, 3MF, STEP, OBJ are all fine — up to ~100 MB per file). You can upload multiple files in one job; each part will be quoted together.
Step 2 — Describe the part
Add a short description: what the part is, where it lives, and anything that matters. Examples that work well:
'Replacement clip for a dishwasher basket. PETG please. Hole must be 6.0 mm for the original pin.'
'Custom phone mount for a 2008 Toyota HiLux dashboard. Needs to handle a hot car — ASA or ABS.'
'Cosplay helmet shell, will be sanded and painted, biggest dimension ~340 mm. Maker to suggest split lines if needed.'
Step 3 — Choose preferences (optional)
Material: pick one or leave 'maker to recommend'. Quantity: how many you need. Deadline: when you need it by. Delivery: ship to you or local pickup.
You can also pick a budget if you have one — makers will quote within it or tell you why it isn't realistic.
Step 4 — Receive quotes
Australian makers see your job in their dashboard and quote — usually within hours, often within minutes during business hours. Each quote shows the maker's name, location, rating, price, lead time and any notes.
Compare quotes on price, lead time and reviews. You don't have to take the cheapest — many customers pick a local maker or one with strong reviews for similar work.
Step 5 — Accept and pay
Accept the quote you like. Payment is held by Printit4Me until you confirm the print is correct — the maker isn't paid until you're happy.
Message the maker through the platform if anything needs clarifying. They'll update you when the part ships, and you'll get tracking.
Step 6 — Review
When the part arrives and fits, mark the job complete and the maker is paid. Leave a review so the next customer knows what to expect — this is how the marketplace stays healthy.
Tips for the best quotes
Send a clean file, the right way up. Describe the use case clearly. Include critical dimensions in the description, not just the file. Be flexible on material if you're not sure. Order one first when reverse-engineering, then a batch once the fit is right.
FAQ
Does it cost anything to post a job?

Can I cancel after accepting?
